New and impressive architectural gems are taking Amsterdam by storm. The projects showcased below are merely a tiny selection of projects from a long list of high-quality real estate developments taking on the Dutch capital.

 

Sluishuis

An international combination of architects Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) from Copenhagen and Barcode Architects from Rotterdam won the tender for the project Sluishuis at IJburg back in 2016. Sales are starting this month and construction is planned for later this year. Sluishuis will become a remarkable angled masterpiece with an impressive internal programme.

Kroonenbergtoren

For this development Kroonenberg Group started a collaboration with the internationally eminent architecture firm Studio Gang Architects from Chicago. Founder Jeanne Gang was announced international architect of the year in 2016 at the Women in Architecture Awards.

The tower is 75m in height and contains 250 apartments. The planned completion date of the building is 2021, starting construction this year.

Booking.com

UNStudio have designed a new urban campus for the city centre of Amsterdam. Spanning 225,000 m², Oosterdokseiland is one of the largest urban projects in Western Europe. It includes 72,500 m² of total space for public facilities, apartments and additional office space for Booking.com. It is hoped that the area will be in use by the end of 2020.
